Each week, you should carefully read chapters from the textbook. This is a major, important source of factual and theoretical information about the field of Human-Computer Interaction or Interaction Design. The book explains major themes of the subject, providing the general background that you should have as a student of the field.

Take notes about ideas you find interesting, controversial, confusing or particularly relevant to this course. You can raise questions about the textbook in the course discussion area (off of the main page for Designing IPL Social Interaction.

At the end of the quarter, you will submit a IPL-SI: Final Textbook Journal that compiles and summarizes your weekly journal entries.
